Seeking Advice: Supplements/Treatments for Brain Fog with Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome

Hi all, I’m seeking advice on supplements or treatments for cognitive/neurological symptoms from post viral fatigue syndrome.

Symptoms: Persistent brain fog, short-term memory issues, and a spaced-out sensation since a possible stomach virus in Nov 2022. Symptoms fluctuate, with occasional improvement, but flare-ups last weeks or months. Resting helps slightly but doesn’t resolve.

Diagnosis: Post-viral fatigue syndrome (neurologist diagnosed). High IgM levels and borderline high prolactin. Tests/scans ruled out other conditions.

History: Similar symptoms occurred between 2015-2018, also diagnosed as post-viral fatigue syndrome. Symptoms resolved eventually but no idea why. Was completely fine until November 2022.

Supplements Tried: Omega-3, turmeric, co Q10, magnesium glycinate, b12, B complex, multi vitamin, probiotic, green powders, protein powder.

Other symptoms include muscle twitches and leg numbness, but these are fine to deal with.

Apologies as realise there’s a lot of brain fog posts out there but as I’ve tried lots of supplements already, looking for any other advice / suggestions! Many thanks ☺️

Hi,

During long covid flares, when my brain fog kicked into high gear, I upped my Omega Fish Oil to 4,000 iu's. (normally I take 2,000 iu's each day) I did this based on the advice of my holistic practitioner for about a week & it helped me a lot! Also, make sure you use a good, reputable brand. The stuff from Walgreens or Walmart just doesn't cut it!

(normally I take 2,000 iu's each day) I did this based on the advice of my holistic practitioner for about a week & it helped me a lot! Also, make sure you use a good, reputable brand. The stuff from Walgreens or Walmart just doesn't cut it!

I think doing this has helped. Also been taking Lion’s Mane for the first time
