Right NOW -- If you are up - The Golden Girls Episodes

TimeWarner Hallmark HD Channel is showing the Golden Girls CFS episodes from 1989.
It was an amazing effort to show the illness in Primetime.
Of course, she had to get well to continue the show. But it was good . If you are up you may want to try and find it and tune in.

I've seen that before, and agree that aside from her apparently never mentioning it again, they did a really good job overall. It does make me sad that not a lot has noticeably changed in the typical patient experience since 1989.
