Some antivirals have a broad spectrum of activity, whereas other have a narrow spectrum, and may only work for a specific virus. This is the case with letermovir.

You can see from table 3 in this paper that letermovir was tested against EBV, HHV-6, VZV and HSV, but found to be infective (high EC50 shows it is infective).
