I agree, and I don't trust most specialists either. My neuropharmacologist is the only one who checks carefully. I raised the question because my cardiologist, after seeing me the first time, prescribed simvastatin. I take nefazodone, as he knew, but apparently he didn't realize nefazodone considerably increases the impact of simvastatin - plus I'd forgotten to tell him that people with CFS/ME should be started with subclinical doses of any prescription medication. I usually check for interactions before I take anything, but was too tired that night. I won't make that mistake again (major insomnia, plus at least three nightmares during the limited time I was asleep).
