Just wondering if p-ANCA and ASCA lgA detected is important / and or relevant? Gastro doc who looked at it said it doesn't mean anything, which is typical (but why run it then?).
Also tagging @kangaSue who knows a lot about autoantibodies. And I agree with you that I never understand it when doctors run tests and then say that the abnormal results are not important and don't mean anything!
I only know enough about ANCA antibodies to be dangerous
I think they only worry here though if you are also positive to MPO or PR3 antibodies, which can point them in which direction this can pan out, autoimmune vasculitis, Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis, or maybe Sjogren's or Lupus.
One issue here is that while the ENA panel suggests no Sjogren's or Lupus, antibodies for these can be absent for a decade or more before you return a positive test for one of them. There is an early Sjogren's antibody test available (through Quest Diagnostics) which for a different set of antibodies if symptoms are suggestive of this.
