Hi
Everyone
I just got off of the phone with scheduling and my visit has been changed to Sept 5 th instead of the end of the month!

It worked out better for me because the Neurosurgeon seems to have the credentials Above and Beyond anyone I have ever been to.

I have been thier before for other test.
It is at a further location away and a pain to get parking and navigate the huge place !

I know it is about my Chronic microvascular ischemic brain disease.

But I will also be asking about long covid and Me/Cfs to see what the Doctor says about it.

Here are some of the papers he has been part of.
https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=list_works&hl=en&hl=en&user=TDam2PMAAAAJ

Any Thoughts ?
Thanks

How about asking the Dr. for a handicapped license plate? I use ours only when needed, but when it's needed, it has been a blessing. The plates are better b/c they actually show a person in a wheelchair compared to the tags that hang in the window and have to be renewed far more often. I live in TX., so things may vary in other states. Good luck.

Hi
I have two that hang from mirrors they are so easy here to get .
I had a Dr paper when I got mine at the Dmv. The person thier said he did not need it !
He said people are getting them thier for ingrown toe nails .
The problem here is the disabled spots are always full with perfectly healthy people ! That I can tell!
I curse at all of them !
Thanks

Hi Everyone

I am feeling better after my stroke,
I dont need the Adderall to have energy any more.
I do have about the same energy as I did when I was Taking the Adderall though.
I also had started on the injectable biologic about 4 days before the stroke, I am wondering if the biologic is making me feel better?

Or did it cause the stroke?

The other 5 biologics did not improve my energy .
With the Mri showing I have Chronic microvascular ischemic brain disease.

I wonder if a blood clot got blown out with my High blood pressure and that is why I feel better?

I will have a lot of questions for the nerosurgeon next week

The hospital I go to has a wheelchair service. I don't have a car anymore and can't drive, but I call them before my Uber arrives to have them collect me in a wheelchair.

It's still kind of awful - they're always late so I have to sit outside waiting for 10-20 mins no matter how much I call in advance. Then for some reason they'll take me up to the front desk and tell me another person will take me from there - which is at least another 10-20 minute wait.

Unfortunately I have no choice - other than to just stop going to doctors, which is pretty much what I've done.

This is also true at the hospital, where I go for cardiac care. After struggling with remote parking, I discovered that they offer a valet service for patients who are incapacitated – just something you might check.
Hi
The place I am going to has been under construction over four years !
They have valet , but it is a minimum 1 hour wait to get your vehicle brout back!
They also have golf cart pickup that will pick up where you parked , but it takes awhile for them to pick you up then take you back.
I always wind up having to park ten stories up or four stories down !

I normally get the kids to drop us off then come pick us up but the visit is so early I dont want any of them to have to call thier work and say they will be late or have them get up that early!

I plan to just use the valet

Nerosurgeon Visit Update
I sure am glad the kids took me !
At 7:30 am the valet parking was backed way up! Must have been 100 vehicles in line waiting!

So my Daughter and I went to the appointment .
The Dr. said said Thankfully thier are no visible permenant damage from my stroke.

My Chronic Brain Microvascular ischemic disease is normal for my age and he does not see anything at this time that could have caused my stroke and he did not speculate anything.

He said the small 2 mm brain (cerebral) aneurysm I have was not at fault and it does not show anything alarming at this time.
Reccomendation : follow up Mri to see if it has changed in 1 year, if it doesnt change then a follow up mri in 2 years.

I asked him what could be causing my Chronic fatigue and real Hot sensation all the time. He said it was a systemic
Issue caused by something.

I asked if thier was anything new on Me/cfs or long covid.

He said he is not aware of anything since thier is not enough evidence to paint a clear picture of the root causes or any new tests that can classify it other than a checklist that does not clarify cause and effect.

So basically if something is found everyone will spend billions in advertising that they were the Pioneers of the research and now they knew everything ! When one week ago they would not even discuss it!
That my 2 cents on what will happen any way!

collect me in a wheelchair
I got to experience two different geographic versions of Hospital medical care. Two different counties, affluent ones. Both very new hospitals, with lovely landscaping.

In one county, rumor has it wheelchairs exist, but in fact, the wheel chair parking area has no wheel chairs. Nor any volunteers, to help people get to appointments or find their patient they intend to visit. And its a long way to walk to reach anything, including the gift shop, the food court, and your loved one. And its easy for you to get lost.

In the other county just thirty miles away, wheel chairs exist and ten volunteers exist to ferry you to wherever you are going. The food court was 10 feet away from the wheel chairs and entrance area, and a sandwich costs 2$. I happen to be there for a biopsy, and was treated like a Princess.

1) guess which hospital system would be treating Oprah Winfrey and accommodating Phds??

2) guess which hospital system treats normal average regular not famous people.

There are two health care systems in America, at least two. My husband received very good care in a remote isolated small town that had a major medical center, there. That is slated to close, I just read. So add another medical system in rural areas: one that is closing.

Nice. Love the kids. Of course everybody is told to arrive there, at the same ridiculous (early) hour, so you can wait many hours....(the doctors are still golfing).

I lucked out recently and my daughter usually comes with me to doctor visits. This has allowed a normal person, to witness the bizarre form of no medical treatment or acknowledgements, that we enjoy.

When the hematologist insisted I needed bone biopsies and chemotherapy tomorrow: this was in direct conflict with the UCLA oncologist. Who was logical, and consistent, in explaining whats up.

My daughter was really flummoxed by that. Welcome to our world.

I hear You!
I cant post any reviews of the place I went to this morning, because I would probably be tracked down and sued!

I should of got a picture of all the vehicles full of people waiting to get to the valet office ,but we were ready to get out of thier !

The self parking is terrible , you dont have enough cell service inside the thick concrete walls to get a golf cart pickup.
I was going to get a wheel chair and none were available!

I went thier back during the covid crisis and everyone had to use the same entrance and then get into the other four buildings if you had to go to one of them.

I felt like Indiana Jones! Grappling up to one building, taking a boat to the other building and catching a ride on a helicopter.

It was a Surrealistic Nightmare !

Then lucky me I got an email survey for my visit.
You may have already read this on my other posts
One question asked : how can we improve our service ?
My response : demo the whole surrounding area and build a park for the kids.
I was politely removed from thier email survey list lol !
Hopefully they have forgot about that and send me a new one !
Should be Fun if they do!

We gotta Love our Kids!
They are the only ones keeping me sane at some of these places!

to get to the valet office
I managed to avoid the Construction Period at New Hospital, during which, I heard you had to use remote parking and valets and No Way was I Going to Show Up There. I dropped Hubby off, drove him myself.
how can we improve our service ?
Oh goody. How about providing the advertised service?

the only ones keeping me sane
I managed to produce one, highly practical, level headed child who currently helps me stay sane.

This place has been under re construction going on for at least 4 years, parking and turning most of the Dr offices into surgery rooms.

We were also Blessed with one Awesome daughter!
And her husband is so Great to her and us that we consider him as our son. The wife and I call him son and he calls my wife mom and me daddy.
So we consider him our kid!
