So, I am obviously dealing with low vitamins and minerals and have been working so hard to up them for 3 years but its proven difficult especially as I became bedridden this year and can't internally take supplements anymore. I am working on tiny drops topically though. I have begun my period and each month I feel a little more like at deaths door..But I have had 2 bad crashes this year mainly from supplements. It is unreal. Anyone else experience this? I can hardly sit up, etc. without feeling massively dizzy, etc. yet I have had some improvements in digestion from last month thanks God. It is not very dark red either which I am sure is iron, etc.

I need to calm down about it because it gets me kinda upset like how am I going to build the vitamins in my body enough to handle a period every month? Survive, etc.

Any positive insight?

@sunshine44 , With as little as you have been able to eat, And your vitamin deficiencies I am not surprised that your periods are getting lighter in color. Think of all the women who suffer from Anorexia Nervosa, and their periods become infrequent, light and at times just go away for months at a time.

I know this is probably the hardest time you have ever had staying calm, but you are doing the best you can!

I hope some more people weigh in on this today.

thank you.

That is what I am trying to tell myself, is that I most likely will survive the defeciencies even though it feels like you are so weak and the opposite.

I am working on healing my gut and absorbing things better and I guess that is the best I can do for now.

@sunshine44 , What about eggs? I know that some people use the yolk and not so much of the white. Like a 3 egg omelette, but separate and only use one white. The yolks, as you probably already know have the most nutrients in them. Always just discard any information that is not useful to you. I am glad you posted.
How are the kids?

I am bedridden too with lots of deficiencies. My body objects to many of the things I need which is so frustrating. Periods are awful. I had one on blood thinners in the hospital which was long and not good. My folate has been dropping all year.

Basically, I hear you! I take iron around the time of my period which helps. Wish I had some suggestions. Eat as well as you can, topical is something, go steady and keep positive. It is easy to panic, I did two nights ago. Best wishes.

thank you, can no longer do eggs. I declined so much after I became allergic to them, hopefully one day again.

I suppose you could look at my posts on here by clicking on my name. It won’t be very coherent as I mostly post when desperate for advice and having to be brief. I have been ill for 14 years, housebound for over 9 and bedridden from the start of this year when I appear to have caught an infection while relapsing. I can’t get out of bed or sit and can hardly chew (I eat like a duck). I’m 29.

I know what you mean about this being unreal. I can’t believe how ill I am and get frantic sometimes. My mum is very good at staying positive and saying we are here but we will be calm and slowly find our way through. I hope you have good, loving people looking after you. I see you have kids. That must make this so much harder.

Have you had nutritional tests done? Do you see a nutritional therapist? I see you have crashed through supplements. I have a lovely NT who comes to the house. It has helped as it takes the burden off me as she draws up the plans and also she has a few times said ‘that will be too much for you’ which stops me doing something that is too ambitious and crashing. I also really understand my deficiencies now and her approach has so far proven to be wise. I know help and tests can be cost prohibitive but if you can afford it and find a good person, I would.

I can take vitamin D. I would second the advice about using a UV light. I saw a respected ME specialist and he suggested that and said it really helps some people. Your body might be able to tolerate it much better. I would focus on supporting your immune system where possible.
I take vitamin A drops. Sublingual stuff is good if you have trouble with your gut. Start everything tiny.

My NT has just got me started on DHA and EPA omega 3s. I take algae oil but if you aren’t veggie it’s in fish oil. It is supposed to lower inflammation and somebody advised me that it helps them tolerate other supplements better.

Just some thoughts. I hope something might be helpful. Be kind to yourself. You will get through this.
