My health was already in serious decline but taking a 10-day course of Cipro for what my GP thought was a UTI (but was actually IC) in late 2012 pushed me further towards disability. I had no idea at the time that these drugs were mitochondrial poisons and was still not fully aware of the abject stupidity of the medical profession enough to triple check everything before following their advice. I can't believe such toxic drugs are prescribed for minor issues like UTIs.
