"views" + "qualitative" - all really solid evidence then? Plenty of room for misrepresentation there I'd say.

What about quantitative measurements?

I expect that the factors that predict success of GET will be identical to those that predict success of placebo treatment.

I am quite sure that those of us left permanently severely disabled as a result being coerced to exercise will be deliberately omitted from White's study, although there does seem to be a large number of us amongst the membership of the 25% group for the severely affected.

This is basically White marking his own homework, isn't it. What the betting that 'conflict of interest' is followed by the word 'none'?

Prof Peter White's conflict of interest statement usually includes the fact that he is Chief Medical Officer for re-insurers Swiss Re.

I thought he didn't bother telling anyone about that sort of thing (though I'm sure you'd know better than I would). Did he not omit to mention this stuff when he did the DWP guidelines for DLA? Or am I hopelessly misinformed as usual!

You are most probably right, but I have seen it declared somewhere.

PDW has very often not mentioned the insurance company competing interest, but has mentioned it in some situations (most or all PACE Trial papers).
