Low blood pressure hell

Hello everyone and thank you @Shoshana for thinking about me. My BP is still very low though I'm feeling slightly better. I had some blood tests done two days ago for sodium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus... and I'm waiting for the results.

The heat and humidity are intense where I live so I'm careful with that and I don't go out much, and when I need to do stuff someone comes with me just in case. I don't like losing my hard-gained independence but since my BP is mostly 8/4 or 8/5 I need to be more careful, specifically since I have OI and it drops after being 7-10 minutes upright.

On Monday I'm going to a ME specialist in Spain. He doesn't give much treatment but probably I'll have the results by then and at least he will be able to more or less know how to deal with the blood pressure thing. I hope so, since this is quite disabling.

It's very good to hear from you, @poetessinmotion
We will hope that the doctor you are going to see, will have at LEAST a couple of very helpful suggestions for you!

Yes, it is sensible and important, for you to be very careful with that heat and humidity added in.

I can't have licorice at all... Even small amounts give me brain fog, heart palpitations, anxiety and a feeling of depersonalization. No licorice for me!

Has anything else helped to raise BP? Your potassium levels may be high and need to be balanced. I read in other forum that Magnesium lowers BP as well.

I wanted to chime in here because I am going through this hell right now. For an entire week, I have been so weak and dizzy, with BP dropping down to 95/60. Took licorice root (powdered) sea salt, drank water, napped, and it will go up a tiny bit then drop back down. We are in the middle of a heat wave and this is the first summer that I have struggled this much! Reading the posts here reminded me to dig out my compression stockings and already I see a slight rise in BP. I hope that I don't have to go on any medications because I don't do well with most.
