I've shown elevated PGD2 levels, elevated Prostaglandin F2 alpha levels, a biopsy showing 60 mast cells per high-power field (hpf), and to this day I have no pulse on what triggers MCAS or how this intersects with PEM or my ME/CFS diagnosis. I know that doesn't help..

Itching
Flushing
Hives
Dematographism
Headaches
Irritability
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Fatigue
Sinuses swelling shut
Lips/tongue tingling
Coughing
Brain fog (so I'm probably forgetting some also)

My triggers constantly change. The only consistent trigger I have is grass, which is unavoidable. Some other triggers I've experienced have been scents (such as freshly cut pineapple or other foods, perfumes, or cleaners), hot water, stress, dairy products, and red meat. I've also had reactions where I have no idea what the trigger was.

I've also woken in the middle of the night having a reaction. The middle of the night reaction might be due to the body's normal cycle of histamine release (aka histamine dump).

Everyone with mast cell activation presents very differently.
