Iron supplement that’s gentle on the digestive tract

I tried ferrous sulphate, which did not agree with me at all. I have ordered liposomal iron, which seems to be a new-ish formulation that people say is gentle.

I seem to remember trying Floradix (ferrous gluconate dihydrate) many years ago and it not being too good for me.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Prefer the type of iron if possible, because I live in Australia and the brands will be different.

(I had my colon removed and have an internal re-jig called a j-pouch. No problems with absorption, but am prone to diarrhoea and stomach aches as side effects.)

@wabi-sabi , that looks like a good one.

Formulation name is ferric maltol.

The closest I can find in Australia is iron polymaltose, no prescription needed. I think it is the same thing or at least very close. It has many good reviews saying it is gentle on the stomach. Will add it to the list.
