This a strange study, which in some ways is very innovative (the genetics side), but in other ways very old fashioned (the use of the concept of "intelligence"). In Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience, we left behind the idea of intelligence years ago, and started to try and unpack the various cognitive skills that might enhance a person's capacity to acquire and process different kinds of information. We talk today about working memory, cognitive inhibitory control, selective and sustained attention.

I wonder why these authors not bother to make contact with this literature?
