I need advice for moving

I recently had to move out of my apartment.
I am living in a temporary place.
The stress of moving is making my
symptoms worse. I am not well and am
not in a condition to be looking for an apartment.
Any advice is appreciated.

Moving is so stressful and hard. Do you have a friend or relative that could look for apartments for you and visit them in your place ? They could skype you while visiting and you could watch it live. Then when you find one, hire people to pack, move and unpack for you. Or have friends do it.

Also, if you can wait a few weeks before even trying to find an apartment, it would give you time to rest. But on the other hand, if not moving is triggering anxiety, then better start soon asking around for someone to help.

It's terrifying to have housing instability when you are seriously ill.

You are actually living through my worst fear. Earlier this year my landlords tried (and failed) to get me to leave my rent controlled apartment. They do not understand that I cannot look for an apartment, I am not physically capable of moving, etc. I know they will try again in 2020.

I don't know where you live, but I have two small ideas.

Can you hire someone, perhaps a leasing agent, tell the your apartment requirements, and let them do the leg work on finding you a new place to live? Maybe narrow it down to 4 apartments for you to choose from?

I do not belong to any ME/CFS organizations, but perhaps someone on this forum can pitch in with some names and numbers. Such organizations may have housing services that could help you. Or even have volunteers that could help you.

Oh god, i'm in an analagous position. i just posted yet another thread on it and one a few days ago. i empathize; how the hell are we supposed to do it. i'm trying to avoid doing it twice like you've had to do but i may not be able to avoid that either.

how long can you stay in the temporary place? That may affect your options for how to go about it.

In my local area there is this non-profit that provides alot of "help" to people who need it. They might be an avenue to assist a disabled person in locating housing...our County also has a housing assistance program and would be worth contacting. Sometimes I wonder about churches...or other groups who may offer public service..

Of course you would have to ask for this assistance, and allow yourself to do so without feeling badly about it. Maybe you shouldn't feel badly about it.

Instead, You can provide somebody else an opportunity to Feel Better about life by-helping somebody else.
