@mangos21 Did you ever have any gastrointestinal symptoms like diarhea, constipation, gas or anything else?
Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK that you can get your poop microbiome sequenced? And when you get the results who could advise on medication. Thanks in advance
This comment is 10 years old; I wonder if you have any insight into what happened with this? Why the brief remission after the treatment, then symptoms return and subsequent course of antibiotics has no effect? Did you ever find lasting relief?I did have a similar experience to the original poster in that I took a 2 week combination of bactrim and tinidazole to treat a persistent blastocystis infection. Over the course of the treatment, I passed some very bright green stools and started to feel a lot better. At the end of the two weeks, virtually all my IBS and ME/CFS symptoms had gone and I was able to work full-time for the first time since I had gotten ill. To feel normal and healthy again after all those years of illness was amazing.
Unfortunately it didn't last. After about a month, all my symptoms gradually returned and I was just as ill as I'd ever been. Another course of the same antibiotics made no difference.

Makes sense. Not saying this is definitively the case, but it is compatible with the idea that he had some kind of problematic bacteria which when treated was mostly eliminated but then a small remnant which gained antibiotic resistance gradually re-established itself.
