Discover how your digestive health is intimately linked to your immune, endocrine, circulatory and central nervous systems.

If you struggle with or want to prevent the following, you must attend The Healthy Gut Summit to learn more about your health:

    • Weight Loss/Gain
    • Adrenal Fatigue
    • Gluten-related Disorders
    • Autoimmune Diseases
    • Systemic Toxicity
    • Diabetes
    • Food Allergies
    • Hormone Imbalances
    • Leaky Gut, IBS & Heartburn
    • Mental Illness

From the invitation I received from thyroid pharmacist Isabella Wentz: (http://www.thyroidpharmacist.com/)
If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that a healthy gut is the key to a healthy thyroid and immune system. This is why I'm so excited to share with you that one of my mentors, Donna Gates, is hosting the Healthy Gut Summit.

When I was searching for a healing plan for my Hashimoto’s, I came across the role of the gut in autoimmune disorders.

According to research from Dr. Fasano and colleagues, every person with an autoimmune disorder has something called intestinal permeability, also knows as a “leaky gut”.

This made a lot of sense to me because I had many of the symptoms of intestinal permeability, including bloating, stomach pains, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and acid reflux, as do many people with Hashimoto’s.

However, not everyone with intestinal permeability will have these symptoms. Some may have no apparent gut symptoms at all. As awful as it was to deal with IBS for almost a decade and acid reflux for three years, I’m actually grateful that I had them as these symptoms were signals from my body as to what part of the system was broken.

Autoimmunity has been determined to be a three-legged stool, needing a combination of the right genes, the right triggers and intestinal permeability to manifest itself. ....

Thank you, @ahmo, for sharing this interesting link with us. I am happy, that more and more famous doctors work on healing of the gut. And I am thankful for this forum, which is a place of learning and for a better health.

I read Donna Gates book of "Body Ecology Diet", I found it very interesting.

Nothing we could follow:
Land Veggies (including dark leafy and cruciferous)
Ocean Veggies
BE Protein Powders (Vitality SuperGreen, Super Spirulina Plus)
Fermented Foods (cultured vegetables, young coconut kefir, probiotic beverages)
Low Sugar Fruits (berries, kiwi, pomegranate, acai, etc.; eaten alone)
Grain-Like Seeds (quinoa, millet, amaranth; combined best with land and ocean veggies)

@Trillium I think you should create a blog entry from this long and informative post, so it doesn't disappear. I found cannabis extremely useful for sleep until repairing my methylation cycle made it unnecessary. Such a blessing to have good and easy sleep :angel:

@Trillium The first and last links in my signature line will give you some basics about methylation. For further info re protocols, Caledonia has quite a list in her signature.

If you click on your own name, you'll get to your profile page, and you'll see a tab labelled blog entry. Also, at the top any forum page, such as this one, you'll see a tab labelled Wiki, with basic info. There's lot's to discover, the main forum page offers everything you might want to explore further. Welcome to pr.

@Trillium, I was just suggesting to repost what you'd written so that it has a longer life than on this thread. There are many people here working at connecting the dots. You do not need to have all the answers or background in order to post a comment! And If you go to the forum page, you'll see threads re research and the science behind our many complications. You are not alone in your search for underlying causes.

I had excellent results using pituitary glandular for sleep when I could no longer use Klonopin. Here's a current thread re insomnia:

There is also a forum dedicated to gut: http://forums.phoenixrising.me/index.php?forums/the-gut-de-meirleir-maes-h2s-leaky-gut.9/

I'm following the summit too! I am going to try the GAPS diet for the gut and if that doesn't work I intend to try the BE Diet. It'd be great to discuss the gut with you guys especially with regards to methylation and the endocrine system. E.g There is a huge thyroid-gut and adrenal-gut connection.

Let's discuss the videos one by one. I bought the package and I would like to share it in case some of you miss it and are interested.

http://healthygutsummit.com/ Scroll down the page to see the list of speakers and topics!

There's another gut presentation with some of the same people on SCD lifestyle's website. The topic is slightly different I guess but it still targets the gut.

http://solvingleakygut.com/webinar/...8fe6ca2a9ae9d263abdc1710c9765a341041adbfd2120

It's endorsed by Dr Tom O' Bryan, Katie from Wellnessmama, Chris Kresser, Sean Croxton, Leanne Ely, Paleohacks, Izabella Wentz, Dr Terry Wahls, Jonathan Bailor, Dave Asprey, Dr Lauren Noel and Christan Orecchio.

It starts in a few hours. You can ask questions as well and they will answer.
