You can only give one vote for each charity. Can we vote as many times as we want and for several organizations?
OR
Is it better to vote for one only and keep voting for that one?
FWIW, this is a message a person sent me. They never got back to me with more details. I think it's ok to post - thought I'd leave it all in to show it's genuine:Frustrated here. I was not on Facebook and did not want to be, but I wanted to vote for the WPI and have been asking everyone I know to vote. So tonight I went through what is for me a laborious process to sign up and set the privacy and security settings. Then I went to vote and up comes a window saying I have to allow Chase access to every piece of information about me. That's required for voting??? So you can't vote unless they have all your info? I don't like that and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people we ask to vote don't either. Am I just being grumpy or paranoid?
I have been thinking of strategies to get votes in Chase Community Giving. If I have the energy I will write up my ideas and perhaps you can help me in terms of where to post them.
I think it would be wonderful to get teenagers involved as many of them spend far too much time on Facebook. They can make a game out of it to see who can get the most votes amongst their friends and at the same time feel that they are involved in or contributing to something positive.
I asked a friend who specializes in computer software development and is actually working next door to the Facebook headquarters in Paolo Alto, CA about the privacy issue- Chase accessing personal information.
I know of several people who refused to cast their vote on that basis alone. He explained that Facebook already accesses this information on every account. This also occurs with the use of any application (App) on Facebook including viewing certain pages and playing games. It is my understanding that it is not as invasive as some people may believe but I will ask him to provide a written explanation and perhaps we can post that as well to inform others.
Teenagers always use applications in Facebook and they have no difficulty voting. I caught my 11 year old nephew on chat, sent him the instructions and he replied: "Done" in about 90 seconds. I noticed in my activity that he had cast his vote!
It is better than a lot of the silly games they play on FB!
