Has anyone tried looking for a treatment/cure from a different angle

There are things like DNRS that has shown some improvement for some or immune modulating protocols. Not sure if that's totally a different avenue but there are many ways to approach it

Don't know if you are interested in what happened to me? As you may be aware, I accidentally stumbled across a stroke medication that has sent me into remission.

Over 3 months later, I am still looking to satisfactorily explain why atorvastatin would be my personal answer to overcoming ME/CFS. Please see: https://forums.phoenixrising.me/threads/fatigue-continues-to-diminish.77862/ and https://forums.phoenixrising.me/threads/could-it-work-for-anyone-else.77895/

From the very limited info available, atorvastatin has antiviral and probiotic qualities. It may also help prevent strokes in some cases. However, it seems that it is unlikely to have the same effect in other cases of ME/CFS.

Statins have anti-inflammatory properties (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15864233). They have a lot of long term side effects too, but seem to give some benefits to patients with high CRP (the Jupiter study showed precisely that, even though it is used as argument to prescribe statins for patients that don't need them).
In fact, the cholesterol lowering has nothing to do with prevention of CVD.

I do believe that inflammation is the core issue with ME, see my thread over here.

I believe it's a bad idea to take statins over longer periods because the long term side effects will accumulate with time, but a few weeks or months might actually be worth a try. If they help, you know you need to combat inflammation.
