hi Tania, I feel better when I dont eat. what sort of tests did you do to find out how food effects you?
To diagnose carbohydrate/insulin issues a 2 hr Glucose Tolerance Test with insulin levels taken too is needed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucose_tolerance_test .
These can be either done with drinking glucose solution they provide or what I found to be better still.. is instead of glucose solution, they can be done using ones normal breakfast to see what that does to you.
With these tests its a 12 hr fast before the test and fasting blood is taken then one eats the the breakfast one packed to take there or has the glucose solution. For some reason it didnt show up in my with the glucose.. but my 2 specialists both were so sure I had an insulin issue that they sent me back to have it redone to see how things reacted to my breakfast. With that my insulin issue clearly showed up (on the second occassion it was up after the 12 hr fast as well and then went up quite high with breakfast.. i have cordial with my breakfast so had that too).
Anyone who has polycystic ovulation syndrome (PCOS) should expect they probably have hyperinsulinemia or diabetes as by 40 years.. 95% of women with those problems by that age do but doctors are lax with testing. So be suspect if you have abnormally long menstrual cycles or miss periods before menopause (PCOS is the most common cause of those things).

My food intollerances I worked out by trial and error over time.
The essential trace mineral deficiency was picked up throu hair analysis testing. My specialists says hair analysis testing isnt always accurate with high levels of things as things in the air get on the hair and can end up giving off false results (also things like hair dyes and shampoos can affect)....but as far as deficiencies goes, he said that's accurate in hair testing you cant just loose what should be there. The quite severe deficiency i had there is molybdenum (that deficiency can cause MCS)
