Has anyone felt significantly better after moving to a Mediterranean region, due to the increase in atmospheric pressure?

Airplane cabine are kept at an even pressure through the flight? Isn’t it? So it wouldn’t change until they open the doors?

It's been decades since I've last flown, but doesn't it take a while between landing and actually stepping out of the plane? Besides, they probably equalize the air pressure on approach, if not earlier, so as not to inconvenience passengers with an abrupt change.

@Bowser do you have i traceanial hypertension? Trying to figure out if i do - and if an eye doc visit greatly worsened it.

And besides apps, any suggestion for a weather station to measuring barometric pressure? I assume shoukd be one that shows trend over time rather than just current number?

Yes, I believe I have IIH caused by Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, also called TOS-CVH. Not much is known about this, but I think TOS surgery is the right option for me.

There’s no reason why an eye doc visit should worsen it. Ask for a digital fundus photo. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundus_photography

Papilledema (optic nerve swelling) on a fundus is rare but not the only sign of IIH. There may be other signs such as cotton wool spots (which I have) or copper wiring. However, these may be ruled normal by most ophthalmologists. That’s why it is important to get yourself a copy of the fundus photo.

Your phone can measure barometric pressure with an app. But as @Hip says, it is more likely that rapid changes in atmospheric pressure will affect you rather than the static pressure. So my original hypothesis in this thread is probably wrong.

Yes, many weather patterns can interfere with our health. Barometric pressure is a good measure for migraine sufferers....but wind speed, dust (pollen) molds in unexpected place, allergies to foods (that we aren't aware of)....we seem to collect more of them with age.

Air purifier (small ones can be bought for about $100 and have large (thick) HEPA filters built in. These are very worthwhile for your bedroom, especially.

Then FM can cause untold misery....and anything seems to set it off. I'm much better now than in my earlier years, but still it can be painful. Hot/cold problems....well, everything, it seems. Yours, Lenora.
