Don't worry, some of these same doctors reported last week.....the earth was flat, the sun revolves around the earth and gravity is just a theory, not a proven fact. :D

The fact that many cfs patients report traumatic events in their childhood means nothing.
If you would take the population at large, would the incidence of childhood trauma be any different?
I doubt it.

There is a post on the wall of that fm group about vipdx and wpi. There could always be more. Does anyone have figures for how many fm patients are being found, or the family info?

Thyroid and Adrenal problems spotted very early on (probably caught too late) and I was having great fun at the time. Do wish these people would keep off the childhood stress mumbo jumbo.

Definitely no childhood physical, emotional or sexual abuse here! However I have had low endogenous cortisol all my life due to an adrenal gland deficiency and been on replacement corticosteroids since very young.

Perhaps there is some connection but I would expect to see more adults who have the same adrenal gland condition that I have developing fibromyalgia, if that was the case.

Pathology tends to break down as half-and-half. Half your risk for any given disorder of mind or body is due to genetic predisposition; half is due to life style choices or trauma. There are so many variables affecting the body at any given time that it's nearly impossible to establish a one-for-one cause-and-effect relationship.

"Dr. Murphree is a board-certified nutritional specialist and chiropractic physician who has been in private practice since 1990. He is the founder and past clinic director for a large integrated medical practice located on the campus of Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham Alabama."

I feel it is a real slap in the face for a person in his position and especially past positions to suggest that CFS is in anyway related to trauma in a persons childhood. On top of that he relates fibro to the same thing. He has absolutely no grounds for saying that, except complete ignorance might work.
