Can't stand the waiting, I'm going to have to go and watch Midsomer Murders for half an hour (it might stand in for chocolate, pictureofhealth!). :Retro smile:

I'm jealous, we don't get Midsomer Murder reruns here anymore, and I like it. Nothing like a cozy, friendly murder to relax you.

I think this are the more important words today for the moment.
It means that now the research and the work will be towards the patients, not against them. These are words of recognition, at last.

I hope some of you will be so kind to translate in this wonderful forum some of the more important Q & A, for the patients that cant understand the spoken-American English of the researchers who spoke so quickly that is difficult to
understand, like Dr.Mikovits, that is a speaking bullet.

This was not for the "Yes", but for :
Ruscetti: “This is the last talk I'm going to give on detection. I'm now going to work on pathogenesis "
Im sorry.

One of our weirder exports! But glad you enjoy it - yes, I am feeling nice and relaxed now that someone has been murdered in a bizarre manner!:Retro smile:

Don't worry Rita we'll get the info out in a readable form one way or another, we've never failed yet. (big grins)

Good grief - 2 murders, 3 punch ups and an attempted strangulation in the last 20 minutes! "Midsomer Murders" is almost as exciting as the forums tonight. Oops - end of commercial break - off again ....

Hi Rita

You are dead right, what Ruscetti said is very important. And I like your description of Dr Mikovits as a speaking bullet.

Its seems we are not getting what we expected from the conference (details of new positive studies) but we are seeing the weight of the scientific research community (and govt $$$) moving into this field. We are no longer a backwater

I just love the new name HMRV!

Logical, consistent, clarifies the X vs P confusion, and rolls off the tongue much better than HGRV.

Consistent too with HIV and HTLV.

Dr. Mikovits does it again!

Nice summary OTH, I think that says it perfectly. I like the 'talking bullet' to discribe Dr. M too. (big grins)

I don't care what ya call it, just don't call me late for the Clinical Trials. (grins)

Rather disappointed that Ruscetti's findings aren't public yet; his 'extraordinary findings' hint implies clarification at long last of which conditions are associated with HMRV. Publication should be another big splash - hope it comes soon...a hint on the videocast would be nice...

Why should we safely ignore Brigitte Huber's findings?

I'm looking for scientific answers to this question. Not agreeing with Dr. Mikovits isn't good enough. (Not agreeing with Drs Lo & Alter won't suffice either).

I'm looking for a specific reason why Dr. Huber is mistaken. Clarifying the answer to this question is important.

I'm not interested in WPI cheerleading.
I'll tell you why we should ignore it: She found more than 47% of the healthy controls to be positive. We have a few good studies until now that found XMRV or MLV-related viruses in healthy people: The Japanese study - 1.7%; the German respiratory secretions study - 2%-3% and 9.9% in immunosupressed patients; The WPI - 3.7%; And the NIH/FDA study - 6.8%. Now let's accamulate, how much XMRV/MLV-related viruses all of these studies found together. if we take the highest scores, it's: 22.1%. and the average is: 5.525%. She found it in 47% of the healthy controls in just one study - more than twice the amount found in four studies - and she didn't test patients that had been immunosuppressed. Their average is 5.525%, hers in this study is 47%. So could it still be that she implies a contamination in the other studies? And if not - why is she telling us about her failure to do a good scientific work?

Are you guys watching reruns or is MM still being made? We get it PBS (Public Broadcasting System) here, but they're always reruns.

(Oops! I'm OT again.)
