What about Urgent Care ?

You really should get (at least) an EKG.

How fast IS your heart rate and is it regular or irregular ?

it's only like 100 when resting but it goes up to 150 when standing up or walking. regular. there's no urgent care around me it's only an er

I just saw your other thread on this topic but am unclear, have you been evaluated by a cardiologist (vs. going to the ER)?

An EKG literally only captures that exact moment and is often kinda worthless IMO for capturing autonomic issues. Have you worn a continuous monitoring device (like a Zio Patch) or done a Tilt Table Test (TTT)?
i've had a holter monitor and nothing showed up really significant. never done a tilt table

i mean tachycardia hasn't usually been my main problem so i haven't treated it like it is

I understand (and I'm replying in both of your threads right now)! Maybe tachycardia will not be an ongoing problem for you like it was for me but it sounds like it is worth getting it checked out further.

yeah. i guess i should get the tilt table or another holter. if i could go to the ER without my parents knowing i would

The ER is not going to be able to do a TTT or holter monitor or Zio Patch. They will do blood work, an EKG, and possibly a chest x-ray. If they feel you are stable, they will send you home with a referral to follow-up with a cardiologist for testing. Most cardios are not too familiar with POTS and dysautonomia and I saw two in 2013 & 2014 who were useless until I found my current cardio at the end of 2014.

yeah i just feel so acutely bad maybe they'd find an infection or something wrong idk

It's certainly possible but when I went to the ER 2-3x in 2013 & 2014, they just wanted to make sure I did not have a heart attack or blood clot and send me on my way. You would need an ME/CFS specialist or immunologist to do more detailed viral & pathogen testing. I am not trying to discourage you from going to the ER if you feel you need to vs. know what they can realistically do vs. not do (from my experience).

yeah. well, if i get a little better i will certainly not go

It's up to you and since I have no idea why you having tachycardia, and if it is in the 150's or higher and will not go down (which happened to me in 2013), I would probably go to the ER, too. I am sorry that your parents are not supportive of this and hope you have someone who can take you (if you do decide to go).

100bpm resting is no joke.

I find that 5 hours at about tat level is enough to induce anxiety. By which I do not mean that I get rational fears about what is happening to me, but that it pushes me into irrational anxiety. The type that is a problem.

The type that makes it hard to think clearly.

I would stop the herbs.

If it is related to a herx happening as a result of killing of microbes in your gut taking some activated charcoal may help. I know that there are people who take activated charcoal 2 hrs after taking antifungals (for example) in the hope that they will mop up the chemicals released by the dying fungi.

And as I suggested on the other thread I would try the "So-Low" and rest untill it passed. Then re read and re think everything.

Obviously like everyone else I cannot offer advice, just explain what I would do or hope to do in the situation.

There are so many things that can cause tachycardia, it’s important to get this checked out

I was in the ER in my twenties and it was caused by hyperthyroidism. I am NOT saying this is the same in your case but my experience. The thing is, if I had the same thing happen today, the risk because of my age, the odds are high for having a heart attack. I almost did and I was in my twenties.

Did you have tachycardia when wearing the monitor or were you wearing it for a different reason.

Whatever the cause, it needs to be throughly investigated.

Good luck!

I would get this checked out even if your parents disapprove. It’s your body. Do you live with your parents and/or have health insurance? It’s easier said than done to cut those strings. Been there done that!

Stopping your coffee will help i guess, since it can make it worse.

What herbal did you take? Possibly thats the culprit.

Also you may have low blood volume. Drink many fluid, electrolyte.

@Gingergrrl hello long time no see:)dont know if u still remember
