Did you ever hear from the person you knew who cured his problematic hunger, what did the trick for him?

I don't recall the details of that conversation, as it was one of those "chance" encounters. I sort of have the ability to strike up conversations with just about anyone about just about anything (try me out if you'd like :) ). I only met this man once, and somehow he got around to sharing his experience with losing weight, and seemingly far more important to him, being able to alleviate the constant hunger that had plagued him for years.

I watched a YouTube video a couple years ago by a young man who was extremely obese, something like 500-600 pounds. He eventually discovered intermittent fasting, and was able to figure out how to settle into a one meal a day (OMAD) regimen. He seemed to have the same reactions or realization as the man I mentioned earlier. He was delighted to lose weight, but he was even happier to be to relieve himself of the constant sense of hunger he had suffered with for years.

In case you're interested, I'm going to leave a link to one of my all-time favorite health related YouTube videos. I start the video where he expounds on the ability of coffee enemas to stimulate the vagus nerve. It's a video I wish everybody on Phoenix Rising would take the time to watch and consider carefully, because I think it is so instructive and insightful, and covers many topics that are discussed on PR. So much of the information he shares in the video is foundational to my own approach toward health, and to which I give a lot of credit for being able to take me from about 25% functionality to around 75%. @kurt

On the subject of food ... one of the types of crashes I have is the need to eat. Before I knew anything about what was going on with me, I referred to this as being "broken." What's worse is the years I suffered with it having no idea that food was what I needed. I have no idea how I figured it out. It looked exactly like low blood sugar. I would slow down and start slurring my words (if I could talk at all). Now when I go out, I always have something with me. Peanut butter in a tube was a great find. I also have a bunch of insulin test strip containers that I fill with Swiss Miss. I used to use chocolate drink powder but it has gotten harder to find. Just before the pandemic you could get a big jug of it at Walmart for $5. I don't get enough energy out of the food I eat. Many years ago I had a stress test on a treadmill mill. I warned them I had some kind of bizarre problem and something bad was likely to happen. I put a bottle of Boost on the counter and told them I would probably need it afterwards. I was on the treadmill for 5-10 minutes. I completed the test and they told me my heart recovered fine. I was pointing at the bottle and grunting. The nurse said "you want that?" I grunted. She handed it to me. I fumbled with it and could not open it. She said "you want me to open it for you?" I grunted more emphatically. I pounded it down and 2 minutes later I was fine. I have a glucose monitor so I know it has nothing to do with blood sugar. It's ENERGY. I just need to eat something. It can be anything. Often I have a few slices of bologna. Usually can't go more than 3 hours with 2.5 being typically. Sometimes 4 if I am having a good day (or fell asleep).

That is amazing! I didn't know it was coffee enemas that did that for you. I'm glad they have helped you so much.

Last year I bought a new enema bucket set thinking I would try out coffee enemas again. I did it once or maybe twice, and the kit has gone unused since then. I just don't have the energy to do all that, unfortunately. Everyday it feels like a monumental task just to get some food prepared.

I did coffee enemas everyday for a few months, 10 years ago. I never noticed any benefits. I think if I had had better results in the past I would try to prioritize doing them again. But maybe they just don't help everyone. Who knows. It's definitely a worth it for people to give them a fair trial, though.

In any case, I appreciate you sharing your experience! That's great that they helped you so much.

Wow, 75%. I'm at about 10%. Today was grocery shopping day. I go to Aldi first and being a small store I am able to walk through it. I have someone with me to do the moving and loading of the stuff. I get to the car and have to eat. Then, we go to Walmart. I have to use a mobility cart there. Get back to the car and need to eat again. I get home and put everything away and then I am getting really bad. Too much movement too quickly. I slump into my chair. Also fell asleep for a bit. Hard as it is, it's better than it used to be. I credit creatine for that.

Now that that is out of the way I am clear to do whatever to myself. Tomorrow I will be trying oregano oil for the first time. Will be trying ONE DROP. Wish me luck. I had been using powder with a strong effect. I had to cut the dose to a pinky nail sized bit. Full recovery time is 5 days. I can fell it overnight. I wake up at 3 or 4 am but can usually get back to sleep. If not I take a coconut oil pill and then i can. As the days go by the effect fades. By the 5th day I sleep through the night and longer. At the same time it seems to help with the decrease in pain that the creatine facilitates. A couple of days I forgot to take the creatine, and I noticed I was hurting more. My perception is that it allows me to stay ahead of it and gain ground slowly. By slowly, I mean, measured with a calendar. I have taken it off and on for the last 10 years, but was not able to take it daily until I discovered that taking fiber morning and evening alleviated the side effects. I think that's been about a year.

I won't be leaving the house again until the 16th and then the next time will be groceries in September.
