I've been taking Beta Ecdysterone on and off for a couple of months and curious if anyone else has any experiences

I noticed that it feels very similar to how Rapamycin felt when I took Rapamycin.

Turns out indeed it promotes autophagy (goal of Rapamycin), per these links anyways :

Other key notes
-Used by body builders to increase muscle mass
-Marketed to speed up 'recovery' time and increase athletic performance
-Doesn't really increase testosterone, per se, yet binds to estrogen

It makes me feel more 'full' inside, but sometimes it comes with some worsening mental symptoms, which was how I felt with Rapamycin.

Also caused a slight increase in heartrate a couple of times, but in my experience I would not call it a stimulant.

I used it over 30yrs ago to help improve recovery from Wt training. I can't say I noticed anything.

The one supplement I find that does help recovery and next day muscle soreness is hmb, an amino acid derivative. I remember when it came to market in the 1990s with lots of hype and a big price tag, people were expecting it to have steroid like effects, which it didn't. Last few years I've used hmb off and on, now you can find it quite cheap. I don't really know if it makes you stronger etc but I notice quicker recovery, still not like a steroid lol.

What are you trying to get out of ecdysterone??

Thank you for sharing. To answer above, just the whole marketed for 'energy' and 'recovery' thing.

But since it may have worsened my cognitive/mental stuff I might just ditch it.

I was intrigued to see it has some other unique properties IE autophagy. I will have to check out HMB thanks

If your testosterone levels are low, going on testosterone replacement might be a big help.
I find trt helpful but I did have to get on top of the viral stuff I had going on before I noticed a significant difference.

I tried beta ecdysterone hoping it would help me retain more muscle mass and maybe help with energy, but it decreased my cognition. Only tried two doses before writing it off.

Shelving beta ecdysterone for now to suspected increase of mental symptoms. I may go back to it down the road.

I will update this thread by saying I have continued to keep Beta ecdysterone on the shelf, and was not really a net positive.

However, I continue to be intrigued by any of these supplements or drugs that are targeted towards body building and/or 'male' enhancement - because I feel that root issues of CFS deal with having a lack of pump, blood flow, vascularity, and that those types of drugs have had a label slapped on them that they're just for men or for people who workout.

Indeed there are some scarce studies suggesting Tadalafil for fatigue, as an example.

Currently the two of this category that I have kept around are 'MRI black' capsules, marketed to increase nitric oxide, which contain AAKG. (AAKG was mentioned elsewhere on this forum recently) And more recently Longjack/Tongakat Ali which I have less personal experience with as I have only recently started it.

If you do the full internet scrape IE forums, reddit, etc you won't find that many reviews about Tongakat in CFS or Long Covid but the reviews I found tended to be moreso positive, and I did not find many negative reviews.

Also mentionable of this category is Tribulus which I have tried a decent amount of times. I thought that it had some interesting effects, but may have also caused some crashes.
