Sorry! I was convinced from Chia that antivirals are fairly ineffective for the most part. He told me he’s seen over 4,000 cases and a lot of been from doctors who have treated them with valcyte and they got worse. I am not saying it doesn’t work I’m just telling you when he said
Thank you for passing this on. I feel that this aspect is not talked about enough.

I know 3 people in my immediate area that became permanently severe while on antivirals. Doctors don't want to know when you get worse. Be careful with these drugs.

Absolutely. Our bodies are weak so why do something to stimulate the immune system more? That’s what Chia told me. Oxymatrine is very mild but if you do it go SLOW. It’s just a slippery slope and very marginal improvements. I think the whole virus thing needs to be forgotten until there is an actual cure. Work on your whole body and thinking and your body will do the rest. Our bodies have been fine our whole lives and they can get back to where they were! Chia said they have a cure and need to just go through the trials and such. But I still think that who’s to say even if we eradicate every virus in our body that we wouldn’t still be 100%?

Went back and read the first page. Which virus strain does your CFS ME stem from?

He is NOT a fan of the herpes drugs like valcyte and it can cause some to get much, much worse and there are only marginal improvements. I don’t think I’d bother much with this whole “virus theory” as there really isn’t any treatment right now that cures viruses other than indirectly strengthening your whole body and mind

1 month on Valcyte cleared my brain fog and cognitive dysfunction, while 10 months on it greatly increased my function. It may have something to do with which viruses one has, but untreated viruses can cause autoummunity, so its worth treating them effectively.

I had my visit with Dr. Chia today. If anyone would like any information please ask and I’ll gladly share what I found out from him.
How are you nowadays? Did Chia's treatment help you? Can you please tell me what he treated you with? I have an appointment with him because I believe that I contracted an enterovirus after swimming in contaminated ocean water in 2014. And seeing Chia is expensive, not only for the care/treatment but also because I live on the east coast. I am debating on canceling my appointment so I'd really like to understand what he can do for me beforehand. Thank you so very much.

I'm also curious on hearing any testimonies from Dr. Chia patients...
There are a few on Google. I'd really like to understand his protocol. I am already taking a bunch of supplements and working with an ME CFS specialist. I planned to see Chia because of his work on enteroviruses + ME CFS. But if he's just going to recommend what I am already doing then there is no sense to me wasting time, money, and energy.

Nothing Dr. Chia said or suggested did anything for me personally. I finally got in touch with an ND who actually understands the ROOT mechanism of this illness and I am about 80%. Still not back into intense exercise. Can I ask how your functioning and how long you have been ill?

I was super healthy and became ill in July 2014 after swimming in contaminated water at the NJ shore. I took a further decline when Mom passed in Jan 2015. Then I became severely ill in late 2017 after moving halfway across the country into this house and suffering significant emotional trauma inflcited by my family. The irony is that I moved here to heal and to be nearer to my family. But I became bed bound and was dying. I dropped from about a 65 on the karnofsky performance scale to a 35. Then I put myself on a treatment protocol in 2019 and eventually began to improve. And I made huge gains when I left my house and traveled for 3 weeks. But it seems that I gradually decline the longer that I have been back from traveling. Now I once again have awful anxiety and awful cognition problems. My stamina is not what it was pre illness but I am not bed bound. I do activities and rarely experience PEM. But I have great difficulty reading books, meditating and praying, all things that I thoroughly enjoyed previously. That's the high level, sparring all of the details.

What did Chia say or do as far as treatment?

Dr. Chia is well known for saying exactly that for at least 15 years. I am afraid it is bs. :-/

How do I find them on google? I have a gmail account and all that stuff.
My brain is fried so any help would be appreciated.
The only thing I take is acyclovir on an "as needed" basis when I need to think. I take 5mg. of ritalin now and then, but I find that just enjoying life and having the occasional acyclovir is much better.
Currently experimenting with reducing my levothyroxine because I never needed in the first place.
For sleep I take trazodone and antihistamines.

I am into reclining muscle strengthening. The best thing I have found is Suzanne Sommers thigh master and ab master. You can use them all kinds of ways.

I have POTS which developed about 5 years ago from stress. All I want to do is look at the sunset and sit under the stars and jump in the ocean now and them.

At this point I need IV nutrition if I want to live a full and happy life. I got this from a naturopath in Ashland Oregon. My POTS specialist is a nephrologist in Bend Oregon. PM me for details.

Both my other specialists are in New Zealand, so I am working on appts in NZ with various specialists. There is available an amino acid you can take by IV and I want glutathione added to mine. I have a chest port for IV saline.

I am waiting to see a cardiologist to liase with the MD in Oregon so I can do my saline myself.

Any suggestions? Immunology? Allergy specialists? Infectious disease?

I’ll be completely honest with you just from my own experience and knowledge after doing extensive research. I know many want what’s best for you, but I think Dr. Chia’s protocol help some but rarely does anyone fully recover from this alone. I focused on this virus theory awhile and soon discovered that it’s only the trigger for the illness in some cases. For me, it was excessive exercise and dieting. The fact that you felt better when traveling for three weeks was very familiar as I have had the same experience. And the fact you get worse when experiencing stress is another similar issue. the illness itself is caused by a sensitized nervous symptom that reacts to all kinds of stressors and produces symptoms. So when you have some emotional response to some sort of trigger I bet you’ll feel worse. And I bet you spend a whole lot to mental energy constantly checking for your symptoms, which is a stressor in itself. What has helped me improved is slowly starting to STOP ANY thoughts related to the illness so my nervous system stops reacting. I also do take some very important supplements that a brilliant ND has me on that have helped. I am willing to share my experience but if you wish to pursue Dr. Chia’s treatments I understand that too.

I absolutely have ANS dysfunction and I am surprised that your ND knows about that. Dr. Navauix (sp) has a theory about cell danger response and ME CFS. There's really good group on Facebook for this named RCCX and Chronic Illness Discussion.

I probably do some of the holistic treatment modalities and supplements that you are on. I'd love to compare notes.

Yes it’s about teaching your body NOT to overreact to stressors. So getting rid of any stressors via supplementation will help avoid it from trigger its own response.

I thought I would mention my story with Dr Chia. I am not a direct patient of his but when I went to NOVA for testing/treatment, they recommended I send my old stomach biopsies to Dr Chia, so I had that done and his nurse called to say I was positive. (After researching, this is not really an abnormal/rare finding even in healthy people)

NOVA suggested I start taking his supplement, Equilibrant. It is $50 for a box of 90 pills. It suggested to start at 1/day and end up at 6/day but with no directions on what to do if it does/doesn't work. Do the math and it is not cheap.

I have been taking it but not really noticing anything per say. I really question if it is effective or doing anything. I was suspicious when he told the story about his son getting sick, but over the course of a year he got better. Was it the supplement or was it like many people that come down with an illness and get better with a little time..?

My Coxsackie results look like this:

Do I actually have an active infection or not, no doctor has been able to tell me? But I do know that every doctor I have seen besides the opinions of Dr Chia, shrugs it off as not important. My Parvo also looked like this:

Your doctors are correct in the fact that they aren’t that important. You see even healthy people have IGG antibodies when they have an infection. IGG doesn’t suggest an active infection - it suggests a past infection. There is almost zero proof that the illness is caused from a virus and even less proof that it is cured that way. Yes, people like chia’s son are cured and may take antivirals but there are a lot of factors at play. I do not suggest going down the virus route. Save yourself time, money and disappointment. I tried it, studied it and know it isn’t going to be the answer. The answer lies in your ANS and strengthening that system by lowering stressors and balancing your body’s systems (especially adrenals and blood sugar). That’s what has paid off the most for me, and I’m pretty close to recovering,
