Why would you take an expensive drug with no demonstrated effect on MECFS?

2 good reasons I can think of - one, the voltage gated antibodies may be indicating a hidden cancer (paraneoplastic syndrome) and 2, ME/CFS might be a misdiagnosis and it's actually LEMS (Lambert Eatons Myasthenic Syndrome)

Does anyone know if there are respective physicians in Europe who are able to test for this kind of autoimmunity and who do plasmapheresis?

The only physician that I know of in Europe who might be able to do this is Dr. Carmen Sheibenbogen in Germany? But I'm hoping that others will see this and reply to you.
