Hi, sorry I haven't replied in a while. Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis is a disease of the bile ducts where the biliary tract gets blocked and the bile gets infected, which causes eventually liver cirrosis.
Meryl - I've been to hell and back with sepsis, infections, vomiting blood and agonising pains. White count over 25, liver enzymes raised. The doctors were just clueless, they thought it was an infected gallbladder so they removed it but have been very sick, I had a life threatening infection after surgery.
I've had endoscopic ultrasounds but based on the fact my mum also has PSC and the symptoms they just said its PSC and I need to be under a specialist hospital - still waiting (this was in July). They said it's my immune system attacking the body causing sclerosing cholangitis.
