In the words of University of Alberta professor, Andrew Mason, “If the patients improve, after a certain point you stop debating whether it causes the disease and say, the treatment works and we’re going to use it.” Washington Post, August 24, 2010

muffin,

nice work.

can someone add in brackets "If the patients improve [on antiretrovirals]" to the Mason quote to give it context?

Gemini - Thanks for pointing that out

Will make the changes but if others use this press release, they too can make the change.

Again, please be a part of this major media campaign. The CDC wants this all buried and dead. Don't let them do that to us and the rest of the populations.

We must speak now. This is our chance. Please open your mouths and say what you want, help, be a part in your illness finally. If we all do not take part in something as big as this, then no one else will do it for us. The suffering we have been through will continue for millions more of the children, young, Moms/Dads, etc for as long as the CDC can get away with it. Don't let them get away with this cover-up anymore. Don't let them demean you. Cancer patients aren't demeaned. People in war-torn countries/concentration camps/prisons/other horrible abusive situations that create insane stress do not get CFS, so why US?

Help. Be a part of your own recovery. Now is the time and we may not get this chance again.

As noted by the above smart person: The official job description from OPM

It is apparent to me that the CDC is not looking for a heavy-hitter for this position. Basically, just about anyone will do. And that's what they want. They don't want a real researcher or virologist or MD with real experience with CFS sick. They are happy to take someone with a PhD in the social sciences - for crying out loud. This is NOT a serious job description and it shows to me that they don't want a serious person in this position. Just someone to shut up, do what they are told, and take the heat that is coming. But they don't want a real scientist. GEE CDC: We are all so darn stupid that we can't see what game you are playing. They can't put Switzer in because he does not have either a PhD or an MD. That's good, he's a moron, but he did what he was told to do, which was a bogus study.

To Tina, Muffin or whomever it may concern!

This sentence (below) in the proposed ad seems to me to be be either a 'hung' sentence or is not worded properly -OR more likely it could be my fatigued brain just not making sense of it!

'This serves as a pivotal time that calls for a change from paltry research in the last twenty-five years of an illness that now disables millions worldwide.'

Help the CDC get the very BEST for this position - use button on right; SHARE JOB

http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=90144747&FedEmp=Y&FedPub=Y&sort=rv,-dte

The SHARE JOB button has many (hundreds) of places to shoot this job post to. I spent some time shooting this Job Post all over so that more good candidates can see and maybe apply.

I believe they did extend the date past two weeks (AMENDMENT- announcement amended to extend closing date). The CDC or OPM or someone prob saw that the dates were far too short or they heard far too many complaints that this was already a "fixed" or done-deal and that is not what we want. And IF the CDC picks another lackey loser for this job, they know they will hear about it and it will be in the public domain so fast and the CDC does not want to keep looking stupid in this area. That doesn't mean they won't continue to play games with us, they just don't want the public to see them for all that they are - game playing, scandal/cover-up idiots who wouldn't know a real epidemic from a Swine Flu.

Enid: The only "catching on" that the CDC is doing is major damage control and trying to play their message. So, they are making it look like they are trying to do the right thing when that is NOT the case. They are tring to cover their butts and this is part of that game. Don't trust the CDC. Don't listen to the CDC. These people are so damn stupid and miss so much of what is really going on that it is well past time that a huge group of inspectors go in, clean house, cut the budget and cut out the dead-wood and the sleazes. Frieden won't do this, someone made it clear to him to shut up and play games with Americans being overweight and smoking. Such easy and stupid things for the CDC to be doing.

CDC: WE are watching you.
