Brain Chemistry

(Fist of all big apologies if I'm in the wrong section-I'm fairly new to posting on here)

Almost 20 years ago now I had an extreme adverse reaction to a medication called Venlefaxine. This triggered a neurological symptom of wakefulness/masking/hyperactive brain that has very sadly never gone away again and has totally devastated my illness/life. It means I am unable to manage my illness sufficiently-to pace, rest or sleep properly. I'm very severely affected. It's pretty complex and unusual but I wondered if anyone had any ideas of how to normalize my brain chemistry which the medication seems to have altered?
Thank you:)

Searching for possible serious side effects that venlafaxine can cause, apparently this drug can trigger serotonin syndrome (where there is too much serotonin in the brain). I am not sure if serotonin syndrome can become a chronic condition, but its symptoms are the following:

Symptoms of Serotonin Syndrome

Mental status changes:
  • Agitation or restlessness
  • Confusion
  • Disorientation
  • Hallucinations
Autonomic nervous system symptoms:
  • High blood pressure
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Dilated pupils
  • Sweating
  • Shivering
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea and vomiting
Neuromuscular symptoms:
  • Muscle rigidity
  • Tremors
  • Loss of muscle coordination
  • Twitching muscles (myoclonus)
  • Overactive reflexes (hyperreflexia)
  • Ocular clonus (rapid eye movements)
Other common symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Insomnia

Can you relate to any of these symptoms?

@onbehalfof , my proposal is to be found in my preliminry thread. It's not worked out readily though, instead is work in progress. You might want to read the last message and then have a look on other not completeley convincing tries.

I for now forgot how to paste things, so you would need to have a look at my thread list.

Not something I'm familiar with. Those symptoms are a bit non-specific, so I'm guessing you have a lot of specific issues but are just listing general stuff. Maybe start by looking into PSSD or other conditions that seem to be sometimes triggered by SSRI or SNRI usage - other people's experience in some condition may sound familiar and then you can start exploring.
