Other elemental diets made me really sick within 2 days, somehow i do not tolerate dextrose made from corn...

I've tried to make a homemade version but i don't tolerate any of the multivitamins unfortunately. Also dextrose (from corn) is a bit of a problem for me.
That's not an elemental diet. An elemental diet does not contain any whole proteins or peptides, only free form amino acids.

I'm still dealing with this so I'm not sure the elemental diet will help you more than just symptomatic relief. My distributor is just a local person but have you tried calling Emerson Ecologics to see if they could recommend someone local to you?
A little update about what I'm trying...
I did a Genova OAT test that showed bacterial overgrowth and elevated l-lactate. I also did a Genova stool analysis that showed I had an overgrowth of enterobacter cloacoe bacteria and severe dysbiosis. I don't think this enterobacter is necessarily the the reason for my lactate issues because I looked it up and it's not a big lactate producer.
The OAT test recommended that I take CoQ10, ALA and several B vitamins. Even though I've been attempting to address my genetic mutations/23andMe/methylation issues, I think I need to get more serious about that for now. So I'm going to start some new supplements soon.
Also the stool analysis suggested I try tetracycline or plant tannins for the enterbacter. I just got stem cells three months ago so I went with the plant tannins because according to the clinic, prescription antibiotics aren't great for stem cells.
I was hoping someone much smarter than me would tell me what effect medium chain fatty acids might have on lactate levels? MCTs have antimicrobial properties so maybe that could help but just in general - do medium chain fatty acids reduce lactate or could they hypothetically?

Oh and I'm trying ozonated magnesium (Oxy Powder) and starting mHBOT this week to see if that will help reduce SIBO too. Unfortunately it's likely that my overgrowth is from facultative anaerobes and will grow with or without oxygen so I'm not sure that those two treatments above will make much of a difference - maybe they can help with other things though.

Jini patel is a wannabe-expert, cashing in on desperate patients and falsely claiming her product to be an "elemental diet".
I don't know of any Crohn's patient that did well on absorb plus, read the Crohn's forums if you don't believe me.

So again, absorb plus is NOT an elemental diet. It's a polymeric diet containing whole proteins.

Thank you for the info. You clearly have the facts. From speaking with her husband, however, I learned that Jini Patel could not tolerate the commercial elemental diets which were proposed to her upon receiving a Crohns diagnosis. So she set about creating a product she could tolerate. It took her years. And because she comes from a family of physicians, they helped her.
The product is not perfect, far from, but it has helped my family member who was unable to eat any regular food for lengths of time, or even blended food.

So have you tried Physicians Formula Elemental Diet yet? If so, how is it working? What about the dextrose in it, can that bad for sibo or bad bacteria? This might sound like a stupid question, but can an elemental diet with only free form amino acids cause weight loss or muscle loss? Dextrose is basicly glucose, it does not need much digestion if any at all so it's quickly absorbed. Usually dextrose does not reach the small intestine so it won't feed SIBO. Elemental diets are also used as SIBO treatment, some say it's even more effective than antibiotics.
Some people gain weight and other lose weight with an elemental diet. If you suffer from inflammatory bowel disease like me then you might gain a bit because the nutrients are all easily absorbed.

I am going to order Physicians Elemental Diet formula also. But I wonder if it would be better or if it be possible to get complete IV nutrition with amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, etc and get total digestive rest for healing? I asked Dr Sheppard in Tampa (he performs fecal transplants) and he said not really.
I'm not sure about elemental vs IV nutrition.
You better order a small amount to try it out, like a 2 days worth of elemental diet because you don't know how you'll react to it. I did ok on other elemental diets for the first day but the following day i reacted to the formula so had to quit.

I have reacted badly to all elemental diet formulas I have ever tried so far, but I am not sure if any of them were not 100% elemental as you described about AbsorbPlus. But even the type of sugar or carbohydrate on all of them would make my teeth hurt. I don't remember what type of carbohydrates or sugars they were, but I hope Physicians Elemental's dextrose or tapioca maltodextrin doesn't make my teeth hurt. That can't be a good sign. Anyway, I just ordered the smallest Physicians Elemental Diet formula I could find, I should get it within 5 days.

Yes I tried it for one day only. My first serving in the morning felt as if my body needed all those sugars, but then before the second serving I felt my blood sugar fall very low but as soon as I had my second serving my blood sugar seemed normal. So throughout the day I was careful not to wait too long between servings. I felt slight nasal congestion from my second serving and on throughout the day. That can't be good. After years of hardly any sugar in my diet, I found this elemental formula to be way too sweet for me. I felt a little hyper all day from all the sugar. I noticed that every single elemental diet formula has lots of sugar. I would like to try something with much less sugars.
