Has anyone tried creatine for help with delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) or other abnormal muscle responses (pain, fatigue, weakness , or soreness ) ? Would be interested to know your experiences

This does not mention CFS but some of the final common pathways could be the same

I know little about creatine really- what it is or how ir works. I just saw a recent post here that may imply its a big methyl donor? I think that would be a problem for me if it is.

I terested in good bad or neutral creatine stories and i guess has to be taken orally?

Sorry, do not have much to add from personal experience. However Dr Tarnopolsky, a Canadian specialist in mitochondrial disease, gave a recent presentation that included a bunch of information on creatine. I am pasting the link of the moment he starts talking about studies involving it. The presentation itself is much more broad, and I recommend the rest as well.

I do not expect any miracles from creatine alone, but there is plenty of evidence to show benefit in muscular and neurological disorders. People with mitochondrial disease have low stores of it, as it is used up as an alternative anaerobic energy source.

On a side note about creatine, I wish we had studies on the benefits or side effects of a carnivore diet in ME. I would love to see this explored further, as there are way too many successful anecdotes out there supporting it. Some even went into remission. However a carnivore diet causes way more changes than increased creatine intake alone, you also have to consider the ketogenic state, microbiome changes, etc. Can't say a carnivore diet is safe or not long term, but I do believe veganism on the other hand would be highly detrimental.

@marcyjo

Thanks for link abd info. Very tempted tplo try tho my esophagus complains at near everything.

I feel so much better when i get to eat neat, but i am so sensitive to tyramines i cannot do it too much. Sometimes i put up with the big blood pressure spike since feel like body craves it. (I should add red meat )Have also found if i eat protein immediately after walking around, my muscles dont get quite as bad.
