This is a very good channel for explaining and helping with insulin resistance if you want some dietary changes:
I've never been insulin resistant in my whole life. I know there was a recent paper done on UK Biobank data showing this in many patients, but I remain unconvinced whether it's part of ME or not. Insulin resistance is so common in the general population... but my sugars and lipids have always been normal, with or without ME. And there was an earlier paper on metabolic types in ME... there were three types and only one had insulin resistance. But, if you can get your insulin resistance under control, go for it! Your health will be much better for it.
You know, it's part of the whole "All your labs are normal, so therefore you have depression", that so many people experience. No insulin resistance, no bad liver enzymes, no high cholesterol for me. I guess it really is all in my head.
