Anyone try Mitokatlyst?

This rather pricey supplement was suggested to me by my doctor (who is a complex disease specialist) and while I would pay a lot to have happy productive mitochondria, there is that threshold most of us hit with all the many roads we could go down, all the many sites we could turn over our credit cards to. So....I wondered if anyone else had any experience with this? Thanks!

Looks like the ingredient which could be useful is Epicatechin. Best source of which is dark chocolate, which would be more enjoyable to take and perhaps cheaper!

How well do you trust this doctor? I can imagine some doctors prescribing something they know the patient can't afford, so they can blame the patient for not trying (or at least not trying for "long enough").

I think this is someone about as trustworthy as our doctors come. I think very highly of her, but the supplement was mentioned quickly at the end of the appointment and I didn't have the chance to ask much about it. I wouldn't ask here if I thought she might be taking a cut or setting me up in any way. I guess I will wait and see; maybe at the next appointment I can get more info and if I try it, I will definitely report back.

Looks like the ingredient which could be useful is Epicatechin.

And only 50mg of it per serving! Twice daily, 1 month supply for 380,-

Once I calculated how much Epicatechin I would get from my daily 2 rips of 85% Lindt, and about equal unsweetened organic cocoa powder. Came out at about 64mg Epicatechins + 114 mg Catechins.

Lindt got very expensive though. Still, a whole 100g bar each day (~90mg Epicatechin) would cost for a whole month 60,- only.
