Anyone get swollen legs?

Mary: I once tried the 4" elevation just to see if it helped lung congestion. It didn't help for that, but it's so unnoticeable that I forgot it was there for the past two months

No I don't, haven't had any echos , but it did cross my mind it could be heart related, hey hum, we'll see what the blood tests come back with and if nothing will push for heart check definitely.

Just want to say that even if you did have one or more prolapsed heart valves, this is not serious unless it is extreme. About 20% of the population has a mitral valve prolapse and most never know it. Another way it can be detected is a "click" when a "good" doctor listens to your heart.

A certain percentage of patients with a mitral valve prolapse have autonomic nervous system symptoms, and this is much more of a problem than the prolapsed valve itself.

I get swollen ankles, feet and the back of my legs (weirdly). I assume it's POTS for me and I do have "changes on the EEG" and symptoms of heart failure so I assume it's that for me.
I've just started taking Q10 with magnesium to see if it helps.

Thanks that makes me feel a bit better Sushi - I do have ANS symptoms as well, now what I need is a GOOD doctor I suppose this is where we need an ME doc who is also a heart specialist, is there such a thing?

Yes Shell , changes on the EEG - I got told there was something not quite right a few years ago but they weren't too worried - okay probably cos its not their heart.............

Well Sherlock not only are you a good detective but your suggestion of raising the end of the bed seems to have worked (a little) okay its early day but my legs seem to be a bit less swollen, so I'll give it a few weeks fingers crossed. Now if only you looked like Benedict Cumberbatch............................

In order to have an accurate assessment, why not measuring your legs circumference at 2-3 places, so that you'll know for sure how much and when during the day your legs are swollen. You can for example use a mole/birthmark/scar as the place where the measurement is made. You then have consistent values.

Tito I don't think I need to measure - I can see the outline of my calf muscle which I couldn't see a couple of days ago, (in fact can't remember when I last could) beside we only have those metal measuring tapes used by builders, not to be recommended. Thanks for you suggestion however, I'm feeling really please today about it, even though I'm no nearer the cause.
