Anybody Here Know the Tarot?

When I was studying the tarot, one of the books I used was The Tarot Workbook by Emily Peach. If you can ever get a hold of a copy, it's very good and has special card layouts.

I actually stopped studying the tarot because there is so much info in the cards and symbolism that it's impossible to ever really learn it all. Each card actually has a corresponding musical note and tone. Each card has direction, weather, both astrology and astronomy, the list just goes on and on. I learned alot, but I ended up giving up. I could never remember all of it. But there's alot of knowledge contained in a tarot deck. I probably know alot more than I think I do. But I gave it up and studied a form of Chinese astrology instead, which has been very accurate for me.

Today's card was the HERMIT again.

I have a wisdom tooth that I think might be abscessed, so it has me a little worried that I may need an extraction.
Going inward to gather strength, like the HERMIT, is all I can do for now.

Dreambirdie,

I hope your tooth is ok and not abscessed.
The picture you posted didn't come out.

Me too, Nielk. But the pain feels a bit like the abscess I had last year. :(

The picture of the Hermit is visible on my page, so I don't know what to say?

If it feels this bad, you should probably go to a dentist?
I got the picture from your post #13.
Hope you feel better.

My card for yesterday was TEMPERANCE--which I read as needing to keep calm during a bit of turbulence.

I was feeling very under the weather for a few days, with a flu-ish thing and my tooth still acting up. I began to feel that oppressive "this will never end" feeling, so I asked how to deal with that, and pulled this card. I think of it as a "this too shall pass" card. The version I have of it is very non-traditional and is actually called "Alchemy," not Temperance. But I couldn't find an image big enough to post, so this one will do.

Does anyone else have experiences with this card. What about you, allyann?
I always enjoy getting other people's thoughts on these and hope others will share their own card choices as well.

Lol. I thought you must be having a rough trot as I hadn't seen a new card for a couple of days. I drew a card for you yesterday and got temperance too!

My interpretation of this card is all about going with the flow. Accepting what we have no control over and focusing on what we can change. As she is dipping her toe in the water I see there may be something you could be doing but not to get too hung up on the outcome. What will be will be.

Does this make any sense to you?

How funny is that!

When my energy takes a big dip like it did in the past week, I have to remind myself that it will eventually go back up again in time, and not get too despondent. As for dipping my toe in the water.... not sure what that is, other than going to the dentist to check out my tooth tomorrow and see what's up with that. Will keep you posted.

I got the eight of wands today. Thinking this is around the courage to let go of my fears. I know I am worrying about coping with the baby if I have a major relapse. Finding it hard to let go of my fears.

Hi Allie--

I can imagine this to be a big challenge, and definitely a bit of a scary one. Though when I look at that card, I get the feeling of enormous competence, a sense of taking charge of the situation and moving forward with it. Does that ring true in any way for you?

Yeah it does, just need to conquer the fear part lol. Sometimes this illness makes me such a pessimist. I am really struggling with the disappointment when specialists tell you will get better and you don't. Like getting your hopes up just to be crushed. I think I just have to be realistic about understanding my limits and boundaries and not trying to fit into the super mum category.

I think it's a positive card. He's working hard, but the sticks he planted are growing cute little leaves.

Super mum has no place in the world of this illness. Overdoing is the kiss of death, as so many of us well know.

I understand what you mean though about disappointment. I've found it better to not have very many expectations, or to have much lower ones. That way, you don't have to feel crushed.

Allie,
You will naturally be a super mum just by staying true to yourself and loving your little one however you can
Honestly, raising a child takes lots of energy; but if you learn to manage your envelope and get the help you need, and keep
everybody's benefit in mind, your child will just know love and benefit--even if you're horizontal!

Know that exactly who and how you are is perfect, and you are already the perfect mum for this little one. As long as you stay true, and connected (which it sounds like you are!) this natural perfection, love and benefit can be nothing but ever-present.

I know you know this already--I'm just sayin'

Here is the card I just pulled for you--looks like s/he's already being taken care of!

Thank you Valentijn, Dreambirdie and Leela for your words of wisdom.

And thanks Leela, I do know this already, just the connection between knowing and having faith gets a bit fuzzy at times :). I do love the 10 Pentacles card you pulled. What deck does that come from?
