Any one had the PLAC test (Lp-PLA2) vascular inflammation.

Just got my results back from this test. Its a blood test for a vascular-specific inflammatory marker Lp-PLA2 (it tests the level of this enzyme within your blood)
I know I have massive problems with inflammation, anyone any views or advice on how to bring it down?

Risk for possible cardiovascular health problems
Low <151
Medium 152 - 194
High > 195

Mine 262.3

So very high...not good.

My value was 152 last year, and 148 in 2009.

While I have lots of problems with inflammation as you do, and heart symptoms from autonomic nervous system dysfunction, I do not have cardiovascular disease as determined by a knowledgable cardiologist who utilized extensive blood tests and a stress ECHO on a treadmill to reach that diagnosis.

You really need to see a doctor about this result, preferably a cardiologist or a functional medicine doc who understands heart disease. Not to sound alarmist, but this result is worrisome.

Thanks @out2lunch I think I will have to see someone. I was thinking a vascular specialist to get some testing done. I don't know about a cardiologist, they mainly want to prescribe statins, with all my spine, hips, knee problems don't want to go there:(

Statins can affect joints. 3 of my close aquaintanances all had/have severe problems after taking statins. Some people don't have any problems, you need to know about the possible side effects before taking these.

Citicoline is a nutritional supplement that inhibits PLA2 and may
suppress cerebral inflammation and improve cognitive function.
Citicoline (CDP-choline) could be very beneficial for inflammation.
Best wishes.
