Abx for 'severe' patients

I saw a doctor today about a chest infection I've developed. He gave me clarithromycin. He isn't a CFS specialist. I was feeling cautiously optimistic because I thought it would be an interesting experiment to see if it improves other symptoms like food intolerances (related to some kind of gut infection). But now I'm reading about severe patients being unable to even tolerate antibiotics. Should I be concerned about trying it?

I think you should take it if you need to, for your chest. I have taken a lot of antibiotics including that one. I don’t think it had a bad effect on me, compared to others I took which did. Some patients could feel worse, but some could feel better, as abx can lower inflammation. If you feel bad, just stop taking it, regardless of the warnings of finishing a course.

symptom food intolerance ... try beta glucan ... some brands to consider ... wellmune >70%, elite beta glucan >85% or pure synergy beta glucan 100% ... try 1500 mg

important to know ... needs to be taken when waking up on an empty stomach then wait a half an hour

will know quickly

Saw doctor again, I felt too concerned about the Clarithromycin (I told him I had a bad reaction) so he switched me to Doxyicycline

bad idea ... why not try some natural antibiotic like wild oregano p73 extract, silverbiotic (military uses it), Apolectoferrin, , monolaurin ... beta glucan too

I tried herbal abx. I can't tolerate them anymore

you have to make sure it is high quality ...

for me, many herbals had too many side effects for me because the active ingredient was not purified from impurities ... for example

aloe vera juice makes me nauseous but i have no problem taking the more potent
active ingredient aloe mucilagenous polysacchrride (AMP) ... this is number one supplement for colon issues

silverbiotic, apolectoferrin are not really herbal
monolaurin derived from coconut fat so essentially food

I was given that several years ago and got what they called red man syndrome. Not fun, all my skin peeled likes body wide sunburn.

Over the years before we figured out what I had they threw antibiotics at me for everything . Now I am very cautious bout antibiotics given when I will need them they won’t work or I will be allergic to them as I was.

I keep many natural antibiotics handy ... in the big picture, they are moving away from antibiotics due to antibiotic resistance being created ... antibiotics are useless against MRSA but natural antibiotics will tend to work

let's say an antibiotic works first time or so but then stops working ,,, then what ... you'll be headed to natural antibiotics ... you may as well bite the bullet

I've had bad reactions to things which were not pure enough. I try to make sure herbs are organic, and not processed with solvents.

Some of the things I've used for infections:

Vitamins A and D
Iodine
Colloidal Silver
Goldenseal (an herb)

are the ones that come to mind at the moment.

I do better with beta glucans than monolaurin. Monolaurin gave me some of the same reactions that coconut oil does. I was hoping that it was far enough removed from the coconut oil that it would not.

@prioris Thanks for the recommendation for the apolactoferrin. I have put it on my list to things to try.

Try bovine colostrum. It contains lactoferrin, immunoglobulins, and a lot of other immune proteins. It is the ultimate anti biotic and immune system supplement.
