There is also a chance that something will come completely out of left field.

For example, someone with CFS stumbling across a new drug combination.

Or perhaps a gene mutation related to autism, depression, etc will also be relevant to CFS. For example, some gene that messes with ion channels. I noticed this on reddit today.

Another gene that would be relevant to many would be some sort of B vitamin, magnesium, or zinc related gene that creates absorbtion/usage problems in certain areas. Any problems with these vitamins could cause CFS and a host of health problems.

A lot of genes may be nearly non-pathogenic in some people, cause cancer in another, cause autism in another, and cause CFS in another, all because of how they interact with other genes.
