I've just caught this episode on BBC iPlayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06r13q6/doctors-series-17-152-the-power-of-you) it's worth watching, it won't be on iPlayer forever so catch it while you can. I think it portrays M.E in a good light.

Here is a collection of my favourite quotes:

Chronic fatigue syndrome is not a disease, it is a set of symptoms for which no cause can be found.

You can help me, by telling my ex-husband that he is not suffering from a non existant illness which has been invented by the medical extablishment to cover their collective behinds.

By endorsing this fiction you are creating an army of helpless victims and you are robbing them of the means to their own recovery.

I like the way that they put the BPS bullshit in the mouth of an unbearably annoying woman, who everyone else, ie patient, patient's daughter/carer, patient's doctor, just ignored until she got more sensible. That's the way it should be, and now 2 million viewers have been shown the correct response to such nonsense.

Also nobody threatened to kill her, and she never claimed anyone threatened to kill her, and she didn't orchestrate a media campaign or get to decide national policy and ruin the lives of thousands. The writers probably realised that a storyline like that would be much too far-fetched for their lunchtime audience.

I haven't looked yet but, is there any way to give the BBC some positive feedback? Let them know that the 'vocal few' think they've actually got it right this time?
Great idea. The BBC love to get feedback. And I strongly believe we should put as much energy into positive reinforcement as we do into complaining.

UK residents can give positive feedback here:
https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/faqs/forms/?e...GCEE109FR19O4J1RVU4&mid=contact&uid=164936436

(Select 'appreciation' from the first drop-down menu, then 'TV', then 'BBC One', then the program title is 'Doctors', broadcast on 04/12/2015.)

Non-UK residents can give positive feedback here:
http://bbcworldwide.com/contact-us.aspx

This is the iPlayer link for the program in case anyone needs it:

How to Speak Norn Iron (Northern Ireland?)
Warning: lots of F-bombs here:

ETA: My ancestors were Irish, so I can have all the laughs that I want.

I love the bat along with "That is quite expensive."

I'm adding "Give my head peace" and "Don't talk ballix" to my repetoire. :p Is that bollocks, in Norn Iron btw? Or is it an entirely different word?

A bit surprisingly, a lot of those expressions are used around here, although in a different accent.

I'm glad you enjoyed some of the expressions.:)

Just to be sure, I checked Urban Dictionary and Wikipedia, and yes, ballix and bollocks have the same meaning, they are just spelled differently.
More than you'd ever want to know about the word:
