DMAE inhibits OR promotes Methylation?

There is some seriously bad information out there on the internet, and I'm trying to get to the bottom of this!

Does DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) inhibit methylation? Or does it increase it? Are there actual scientific/medical articles to back this up? I've heard both.

Has anybody used DMAE extensively? If so, what did you notice?

And, if somebody believes they are chronically over-methylating, will DMAE help?
