Ive found my greatest frustration with Drs have come when talking to gastroenterologists.

The Daily Beast: The cure for brain diseases is in your gut

If many diseases do begin in the gut or are impacted by a derangement within the gut I think its going to be difficult to turn that derangement towards health in illnesses like ME/CFS or in disease states where someone has been sick for many years due to this derangement. The gut is...

An Old LA Times Article on the Director of Realtime Labs?

Yes @sarah darwins. The LA Times piece paints an unflattering picture, but it cant represent the whole truth.

An Old LA Times Article on the Director of Realtime Labs?

Im very well aware too that many Dr.'s who have been invaluable to the ME/CFS community have courted controversy, Dr. Shoemaker being one prominent example. I don't want to start a witch hunt. Just thought it was worth sharing.

An Old LA Times Article on the Director of Realtime Labs?

I made the possible link for two reasons, the article discusses Dr. Hooper's previous founding of Laboratory Testing facilities and disclosed his last place of work as being a hospital in Texas where RealTime Labs is located. I just thought the article was worth sharing on the chance that it...

An Old LA Times Article on the Director of Realtime Labs?

I do not want to cast aspersions about someone and admit that I have not dug deeply into this because I am not 'that' interested in this story in which case if I am incorrect I will delete the post if someone corrects me. The Director of Realtime Labs is Dr. Dennis Hooper who has co authored...

I would also be interested to know the name of this lab @Ema if you know of it.

Can Dr. Brewer's Protocol be ordered without a prescription?

Thanks @forbearance. Ill start working for that prescription then and I did hear it was the ASL pharmacy. Great. Thank you!

Can Dr. Brewer's Protocol be ordered without a prescription?

Hi Everyone, I know Dr. Brewer's protocol has been discussed in previous threads but I have a slightly more specific question which is whether or not the spray combinations can be ordered somewhere without a prescription and also what type of nebulizer needs to be purchased for delivery. My...

    Supplements to augment fasting

Tunguska, Waynes latest comment was a reminder to me that none of my comments addressed your main question and I just want to apologize publicly for that. My ME/CFS is impacting my decision making and my perceptions and Im afraid I was in a cloud of fog and not able to 'listen' to what you and...

    My CFS/ME was GHD

Congratulations @awkwardlymodern. Feels like a miracle anytime someone breaks free. Good look on the outside! Gives us hope we can get there too one day.

    Supplements to augment fasting

@Tunguska I thought you would find this interesting. I have not read Ancel Keys' work on Starvation "The Biology of Human Starvation", but I plan on reading parts of it as some point. Here is a breakdown of tissue loss at death by starvation and I think Ancel Keys got these numbers from WW2...

    Supplements to augment fasting

Interesting @Matthew Jones. I guarantee you weren't starving while not eating for three days. You were fasting but not starving. Starving is the state in which a person has exhausted most fat reserves and the body starts breaking down muscle and organ tissue.

I know @Mij. I have problems with low BP (if you are referring to Orthostatic Hypotension/Intolerance), myself.

    Supplements to augment fasting

Hi @Mij, Yes as I explained in my PM to there are not studies on the effects of long term fasting on mitochondrial function that I am aware of and I made a mistake in my previous thread by suggesting there were. Theres a lot of anecdotal evidence on long term fastings benefits in the books on...

    Supplements to augment fasting

Interesting @Wayne. Do you remember the name of the book? Id be interested in reading it. Edit: Love the "etheric" blueprint idea @Wayne and Im sorry I didn't acknowledge it in my first response. And your idea that fasting (and other protocols) if they help us to heal its because they are...

    Supplements to augment fasting

I wasn't referring to RESEARCH papers (in this thread) and made that clear in my comments. I PM'ed Mij and gave her some links and an explanation for the comments I made in my previous thread, which is what I said to her I would do.

    Supplements to augment fasting

And I feel the need to add this though I should be able to go without saying it.........I realize we as a group here on PR are a very sick lot. I am very ill. Everyone is different, many people will respond differently to fasting of any length. There is a long history of very ill people...

    Supplements to augment fasting

Hi Tunguska, I apologize if I missed where you mentioned some of your health issues which could make a long fast challenging, clearly you have some form of collagen disorder on second reading. And I apologize too if my tone sounded critical to your plan for shorter fasts. If I came off that...

    Supplements to augment fasting

The idea that long term fasting leads to muscle tissue breakdown is simply false if you believe Ancel Keys' research in his work the Biology Of Human Starvation. The body during a long fast will take every ounce of fat on your body and use that fat for energy. That's what its there for and the...

    Supplements to augment fasting

Tunguska, one comment Id like to make is you seem to be focused on the little bit of research mostly in animals on short term and medium term fasting, both the supposed benefits and the supposed drawbacks. It cant hurt to weigh this limited data in making an evaluation as to what the...

Chris Kresser's Podcast / Website Helped me so much

IMO, even though Chris is not an ME/CFS specialist he is one of the brightest minds in medicine and is trailblazing a new path for Functional Medicine. He is absolutely brilliant, deceptively so, a tremendous talent. If I had the money Id become a patient just to see what he would come up...

    Reduced Eschericia Coli causes fatigue?

Well M79 I wouldn't be discouraged because of the fact that these stool tests aren't super reliable or thoroughly illuminating. Don't be discouraged on that score. If you KNOW your gut is messed up you don't need a stool test to tell you that though they can be helpful to spot pathogens...

    In Memory of Alberta Watson

Always sad to lose a fellow sufferer too early. She had quite a career. One of those hard working actors who puts the work in year after year, without all the limelight. All while carrying the burden of ME/CFS. Much respect.

@jimells . So great to hear my New England relatives to the North have made such strides. Or apparently not. What a story........
