Who Would You See to Heal Your Gut?

I was being treated by Dr. Kaufman and was kind of stable until something broke in my gut.
Although he has some guessess I do think he's not so sure what to do now...

If you had this priority and this only, to examine extensively and treat your gut... Considering you have ME and FMS
Which doctor would you see anywhere in the world? Who do you think knows the most about gut healing, including sibo, histamine intolerance, candida, disbiosis, probiotics, fecal transplants etc?

I'm not sure there are doctors with this much knowledge out there.

A good site I've found for this is by another ME/CFS patient here: https://cfsremission.com.

He has a plethora of information and seems to have gained some experience in this area.

Maybe you're already seen some of his stuff as he posts in the blogs here on PR as well.

I absolutely know my gut is broken - but I think it is a real cause of many m.e symptoms and from my experience, it seems to go wrong, for no apparent directly influenced reason, every few months. My gut was brilliant throughout the summer, I was only taking bimuno and eating no wheat and sugar. Then, out of no where, boom, it's like the whole microbiome died, and now I have terrible gut symptoms and m.e symptoms. It is like phairs trap has lead to a rising 'something' peaks, then crashes, killing off good bacteria and leaving us feeling awful... @HTester what do you think?
Now I've got to rack my brains for a way to stay healing it again for a few months, before it crashes again 🙄😓

The thing is, my problem is in the stomach. It's right after eating, like 2-3 minutes.
I don't think bacteria has that much impact there.

Nobody. Through my own research Drs can be good in their chosen specialist field. At best offering some help for some of your gut along with some detrimental treatments that could make you worse. But often this isn't known until you've pursued them. In my experience Functional Medicine Drs can be just as bad.
I think there is a lot of trial and error and a lot of personal learning to do as we know our bodies best.

I find Drs useful for TESTS and DIAGNOSES. This points you in the direction of where to start researching and trialing various things for yourself - by this I mean diet, supplements, lifestyle etc. IF you then want to try a drug treatment you can find a Dr willing to help you with this. So for me it would be about finding out what tests I think may be helpful and then pursuing a Dr offering this.

I have several serious, long term gut conditions which I manage successfully without the use of drugs (my choice). I have spent years researching my gut for myself and have had to wait a long time to get the tests I needed. I find the best places to learn are research papers, other patients following a treatment you're interested in and facebook groups for particular conditions.

You might consider seeing Dr Jason Hawrelak in Tasmania, who is the closest I've found to a microbiome expert. He is also a very caring and compassionate practitioner, although I believe his wait list is quite extensive.
