thank you for your responses!
what is the difference between cyanocobalamin and hydroxocobalamin or methylcobalamin? does anyone know and can explain to me? thank you
they all technically count as B12, they differ as to what has been added to the cobalamin for "transport".
cyanocobalamin contains cyanide and shouldn't be used by anybody imo.
methylcobalamin is an active form of B12 but is highly unstable and needs special handling and storing to not deteriorate rapidly.
when using hydroxocobalamin it's a good idea to take some potassium, i noticed this from personal experience but wikipedia just confirmed this "Side effects are generally few.
[2] They may include [...]
low blood potassium" from:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroxocobalamin
there is also a fourth one that shouldn't go unmentioned, which is another active form called adenosylcobalamin.
if there is a deficiency due to maladsorption from food injections might be the best way the rectify the situation. they are all rather large molecules so sublingual adsorption is slow and suboptimal.
