Does anyone know whether I can take vitamin k1 with calcium? Im using it for bleeding issue but i think I have low calcium and it’s causing a stress response when I take the K1.

What do you mean by a stress response?

When you say you're using "it" for bleeding issues, do you mean K1?

I've taken vitamin K2 for several years, together with calcium most of the time. A few times my sleep has gotten very bad and my calcium to magnesium ratio has gotten skewed and I had to stop the calcium for awhile. I've never noticed an interaction between the K2 and calcium though I wouldn't know what to look for either.

Yes I do mean K1. So I took the plunge and took some calcium. It instantly helped the stress response except I think I used too much K1 compared to Calcium cause of all a sudden my heart is beating too strong and my calves were tingling. I think the calcium helped me clot faster! I'm waiting till I completely stop bleeding till I add in magnesium cause magnesium supposedly opposes calcium. I have to make sure my calcium blood serum is more concentrated so that magnesium doesn't bring it back down to nil. You didn't take it along with magnesium? not at the same time but same day?

Which "it" are you referring to here - calcium or K1?

I've taken K2, calcium and magnesium all on the same day. I take the K2 in the morning with breakfast, calcium with breakfast and lunch and magnesium with lunch, dinner and before bed - lots of magnesium!

I've read that K2 is generally better than K1, though no one seems to know for sure and some recommend taking both. arghhh!! I just take K2, and then I read that the best form of K2 is with MK7 - it's getting very complicated!

@tootsieroll - if you're replying to someone, it's a really good idea to tag them by putting the "@" sign in front of their user name like I did with your name here, of this: @Mary . That way the member will get an alert that someone has responded to them or wants their attention.

Alternatively, if you hit "reply" to all or a portion of a post, like I did right above, the member being replied to will also get an alert. :nerd:

@Mary thanks for letting me know about the tag. About the question above, even I confused myself lol. I think I was referring to calcium and magnesium, if you took those two. If so, were they taken together or separate .

Got it! I was told that calcium helps with sleeping the first part of the night, and magnesium helps with the second half. So that's primarily why I take calcium and magnesium in the order I listed above. tbh, I don't know the best way to take these. I've read both ways - take them together, and don't.

I don't know why taking calcium and K1 together would cause a stress response for you - your heart beating stronger, calves tingling - I don't have a clue unfortunately.

Thanks @Mary. I think they oppose eachother so maybe apart is better.

Does anyone here know if Calcium helps blood clot. Or does it do the opposite with thinning possibly by some affect on iron. Or possibly not and instead it helps formation of platelets?
