In page 46 is an interesting work of Shoemaker with VIP .
They had a symptom reduction in all patients with not adverse effects.
The VIP was administered intranasally four times a day.
"Treatmet with VPI restored clinical functioning in a cohort of patients with severe CFS illnes".
I dont know if this is a very expensive treatment, but I hope can be a good treatment in the future.

Hi Rita, there is an old thread somewhere on this. I last asked if anyone knew how to get hold of this drug in the US. No response yet, but I am very interested because my labs show undetectable VIP. That's lower than low. VIP is some kind of master hormone involved in several critical functions. I hope people chime it on this one more. Thanks for posting.

I think this place makes it Hopkinton Drug (in Mass.).

PS Perhaps you can give them a call and ask who prescribes?

PSS If you pay out of pocket, i think it can cost $200/month, and it needs to be refrigerated. (If my memory serves me correctly.)

Thanks gg, I called and spoke with the compounding pharmacist at Hopkinton today. They do compound Aviptadil, but only for people involved in the Shoemaker protocol. I asked him if my doctor could order it based on labs showing undetectable VIP, and he said only if my doctor was following the Shoemaker protocol. It is about $200.00/month.

I find it very odd that a pharmacy would be doing this (shoemaker protocol only). Anyone else have information on this? And isn't the Shoemaker protocol basically Mold Tx and involve some other very heavy meds?
