I'm in the UK, Suffolk, and I was wondering if there is a set way to become involved in research here (if there is any?!).
Welcome to Phoenix Rising!
Created in 2008, Phoenix Rising is the largest and oldest forum dedicated to furthering the understanding of, and finding treatments for, complex chronic illnesses such as chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, long COVID, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and allied diseases.

it says the samples go to UCL. If I were going to be in London would giving blood there be an option? If you bookmark the Research pages on the MEA website:
http://www.meassociation.org.uk/research2015/
there is a section on volunteering for ME/CFS research - which we update whenever we are notified about biomedical research studies that require people with ME/CFS
The ME/CFS Biobank:
http://cureme.lshtm.ac.uk
which is funded by the MEA Ramsay Research Fund requires blood donor volunteers, including people with severe/housebound ME/CFS, but not at the moment
You are in an ideal position here re the ME Biobank because our research nurse lives in Cambridge and we have funds available to arrange for blood samples to be taken at a person's home if necessary
The samples are then sent to the ME Biobank at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, North London
Hope this is of some help…….
