UK: Requesting referrals to Neuroimmunology specialists

Hello everyone,

I suspect with ME now coming to more GP's attention, today I was able to have a referral to a neuroimmunologist carried out.

I explained ME means inflammation of the brain and the spinal cord, and to date, I haven't received any investigations nor treatment for it. Attending the Fatigue clinic was mentioned, but I said I doubt it would work again before treatment for inflammation is carried out.

I was also made aware the referral could be rejected if it’s considered incorrect, so there is no guarantee I will be seen on the NHS at this stage, but I just wanted to let everyone know help may be available in this area as well.
