...referring not to the disabled but to the companies failing to get us back into work:

Here's the blurb:

Only half of all people with a disability are in work. Panorama investigates if one of the government's most ambitious welfare reforms, costing billions of pounds, can solve the problem of disability unemployment. Reporter Sam Poling reveals the private companies who are getting rich from the new reforms despite only being able to get a small fraction of disabled people back to work, and speaks to the charities who feel the most vulnerable in our society are being failed

Sounds interesting. It's an absolute scandal. I just got DLA this week after a seven month battle. That off the back of a 28 month battle over ESA. It's possible to get these benefits but you have to fight tooth and nail. And all the while, the government is wasting huge sums of money on 'reforms' that make matters worse.
I have a number of complaints about my case that I could take further but I just feel destroyed by what they have put me through so I think I am going to give up with that. Otherwise it never ends as getting justice enacted is almost impossible if you are sick and poor.

The UK: the most undemocratic democracy in the world.

There is the aslo huge problem of the cost of appeals being added to the cost of paying ATOS for not doing its job.

But that's all-right. As long as the taxpayer is only paying the already wealthy.

Can't have them giving any money to folk for basic survival, oh no.:ill:

The cost of that is really minor compared to the benefits gained from pushing more people in to poverty, or forcing the sick and disabled to rely upon the charity of family and friends.

The media's coverage has been pretty piss-poor so far. I'm expecting this to be just a positive blip, rather than a part of any real change. Finger-crossed for a more serious examination of these problems though.

I couldn't believe the 1st girl , with severe learning difficulties ,who was told to be actively seek work!! Sickening.

The comment " We can't look at each case individually" Horrific attitude . They must waste so much money on these appeals. Why isn't a doctor or specialists word listened to?

Looking to make cuts but are willing to invest £31 Billion in a new train service that isn't needed.
