So what do you do about the hot flashes?

Heat flares up my MCAS and that flares up the ME/CFS. With the joys of perimenopause and nightly hot flashes I have been getting sicker and sicker. I've been looking at bed cooling systems, but they are awfully expensive. Since getting COVID, I have pain to light touch, so I can't stand a fan or AC blowing on me.

How do other people handle this?

Have you tried Dang Gui/Angelica Sinensis TCM herb?

I does also help to some degree with autoimmune type problems. It is supposed to have very weak oestrogenic type effects in the female body. It might be worth reading about it.

Chances are your pituitary gland is under functioning and damaged which might also make things more difficult than it needs to be. Cuscuta Chinensis/Dodder seed can help the function of the pituitary gland and the HPA system as a whole. I feel dead when I don't take it and the effects last around 2 days before it wears off. The herb is used for fertility in TCM but it is perfect for ME & Fibro. However it is high in tannins, many of which have Quercetin in them and the tannins can be a bit constipating.

Have a read about these herbs. I'm male BTW as my name suggests.

One doctor said Magnesium but I'm very inconsistent about taking it so don't know if it helps with that.

I've also read things like Evening Primrose Oil can help though I think it has to be taken for a while to start working.

I know a lot of people have been very happy using cooling mats for dogs?
May sounds like an odd idea, but why not!

My heatwaves only lasted half a year, maybe you are that lucky, too, if this can be of any consolation, @wabi-sabi .
I don't have any good ideas for when you stay in bed except maybe having a big towel in a plastic bag in the freezer. So when the heat comes you can lay on it or cover youself with it.

My body does not cool itself in warm weather, so when I'm outside, I use one of these plant spray bottles.

I've been using ice packs. They are just inconvenient. By the time I am awake enough to put on the ice pack, well I'm awake and my mast cells are already popping. I am hoping this stage passes quickly.
